Installed locally and something is amiss...

Followed the docs here: Getting Started Guide but when I run, I get an IS error saying that it "Cannot read configuration file"

Yes, I have set permissions and changed the Read-Only flag on the files.

And IIS structure:

What on earth could I be forgetting?

Yeah, team viewer is fine as well. I have one already installed.

Issue was wrong connection string to the database which for some reason caused screen to just hang without displaying any error messages.

How about setting up a TeamViewer connection? Install Teamviewer on your system and I'llsend you the PartnerID for remote control.

Are you able to get on a call and a remote session to troubleshoot the issue?

ok...

1. Is your SQL server installed on localhost?

2. can you connect to your DB using virto/virto credentials (connectionString="Data Source=(local);Initial Catalog=VirtoCommerce2;Persist Security Info=True;User ID=virto;Password=virto;MultipleActiveResultSets=True;Connect Timeout=420")?

3. are there any errors in SQL server logs?

If that doesn't give any clues, I'll consult our team and should contact you in 12 hours.

Gets to this line in SetupDatabaseInitializer.cs and doesn't go any further:

var migrator = new System.Data.Entity.Migrations.DbMigrator(_config);

No activity in the Developer's Tools, either, for Network Activity and no errors in Console. It has not yet begun loading anything.

The DB should be created in seconds and login dialog displayed. Can you turn developer tools on (usually by pressing F12), reload the page (F5) and check if any error is logged. Or attach the screenshot.

OK, I got the framework version changed and now it is just doing nothing. Is it supposed to be building the DB? The loading indicator on my browser just keeps spinning...

The App Pool is still set to run ASP.NET 2.0 as you posted:

Version Information: Microsoft .NET Framework Version:2.0.50727.5485; ASP.NET Version:2.0.50727.5491

Check this and alternative answers to such issue: http://stackoverflow.com/a/8537342/1072921

Yes, I do.

Do you still get "Unrecognized attribute 'targetFramework'. Note that attribute names are case-sensitive." error when web.config is not modified?

BTW, I do have 4.51 framework installed.

It is already set o the 4.0.30319 version.
