Where is Desktop Commerce Manager?

Hello every one,

Where is Desktop Commerce Manager for version 2+ and how can i use it in new version?

Best Answer

That looks interesting. It does make it easier to manage stores within frontend, but it makes all other things complex, for instance you can't easily change frontend theme. However the marketplace can be a theme in itself with all the custom functionality already implemented.

We are looking more closely in marketplaces as even our own virtocommerce.com/apps needs such functionality and we want to enable very simple workflow for developers to submit and update their own apps.

as a store owner, i prefer vendors submit and manage their store from front-end or Desktop app.

just lock at magento Connect and it's plugins

http://www.magentocommerce.com/magento-connect/catalogsearch/result/?q=Multi+vendor+Marketplace&pl=0

 this one for example:  http://www.magentocommerce.com/magento-connect/marketplace.html

It is good, but it won't be possible to support both full featured applications. AngularJS admin is very extensible and we now working on object based ACL which will allow vendors to login and just manage their own stores.

Yes, for example you can use it for multi vendor marketplace , vendors can have separated commerce manager with limited access.

i think WPF Commerce manager was good and VirtoCommerce team should work on it

Yes, you will need to connect to new API's. Source code for 1.x version is here: https://github.com/VirtoCommerce/vc-community-1.x.

We might use Commerce Manager WPF framework for POS and other solution based apps.

can we use it in 2.x version with some modification?

i can't find it source code on the web

Desktop WPF application is not longer used in 2.x. It has been replaced with web based/angularjs app.
